about Us
PARTAGE TANZANIA is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-religious organization founded in 1989 by a French social worker, Philippe Krynen.
It is based in Bukoba, a small town on the western shore of Lake Victoria, in the Kagera region of northwestern Tanzania, near Uganda and Rwanda.
The organization was born at the very height of the AIDS epidemic in Africa—at the heart of its impact in Tanzania. It sprang from an urgent call to action, sparked by the dramatic realities facing the local population.
Its field of action spans a district of 1,600 km², home to approximately 560,000 people, among whom are around 20,000 orphans (World Bank, 2021).

About Philippe Krynen
When he first visited Kagera in 1988, the region was suffering since the local economy had collapsed. AIDS was claiming lives quietly and swiftly—making urgent intervention essential.
With that pressing need in mind, PARTAGE TANZANIA was established to rescue orphans and help them grow into educated, healthy, and responsible adults.
