Bwoki Vocational School

On Wednesday, November 26th, the Bwoki Vocational School was filled with joy and pride as the graduation ceremony celebrated a new class of young people trained in this essential vocational center for the Bukoba region. A moving and meaningful moment that we are delighted to share with you.
A school that changes lives
Since 2004, Bwoki has welcomed nearly one hundred young people each year—many of them orphans or from very modest backgrounds—offering vocational training adapted to local needs: carpentry, masonry, tailoring, traditional basketry, hospitality and cooking, electricity…
Over the course of two years, students acquire concrete, nationally recognized skills that open doors to the job market.
For many of them, Bwoki is much more than a school: it is a second chance, a place to regain confidence, learn a trade, and build a stable future—for themselves and often for their entire family.
A committed and diverse graduating class
This year, 41 young people received their diploma: 22 girls and 19 boys. They trained in four main fields:
Tailoring & knitting: 16 graduates (15 girls, 1 boy)
Hospitality & cooking: 12 graduates (7 girls, 5 boys)
Carpentry & woodwork: 13 graduates, all boys
All students, regardless of their specialization, also completed essential complementary modules in electricity, computer literacy, crafts, and home gardening—practical skills that strengthen their autonomy and employability. They were also officially recognized as Scouts of Tanzania, an achievement that strengthens their sense of responsibility, community and solidarity.
A proud day
The November 26th ceremony brought together graduating students, teachers, school leadership, the Victoria Program team, and a special guest: the Regional Director of Technical Education, who came to acknowledge the quality of the work carried out at Bwoki and encourage this new generation of young professionals.
Smiles, dances and heartfelt encouragement filled this special day, marking a true transition into adult and professional life.
In addition to their diploma, graduates also received essential tools for their future profession: carpentry tools, sewing machines, masonry equipment, cooking utensils… These starter kits allow them to begin working immediately and independently—a vital support for their successful integration into the workforce.
Support that makes a real difference
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and friends of Partage Tanzanie, Bwoki can provide:
well-equipped workshops
a boarding facility for the most isolated students
daily meals
socio-educational support
and a real springboard into employment through the professional toolkits provided at graduation.
Each young person leaves the school with valuable know-how—and the means to put it into practice from day one.
This diploma belongs not only to the student, but also, in a way, to you.
Thank you
Every success at Bwoki is a shared victory: a young person taking flight, a family regaining hope, and a community growing stronger.
Thank you for believing in these young people, for supporting them, and for enabling Bwoki to continue turning dreams into skills—and skills into a future.
