In just a few weeks, Tanzania will experience a key moment in its national life: the general elections of October 2025. This long-awaited event brings both hope and concern. President Samia Suluhu Hassan, in power since 2021, is seeking a full term under the banner of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), the ruling party since independence.

But the campaign is shaping up to be tense: several opposition parties have been excluded from the electoral process, and many citizens still doubt whether they will be able to express themselves freely.

Une démocratie en recherche d’équilibrA democracy in search of balance

Tanzania remains a stable country where social peace holds a precious place. Yet, its political life continues to seek equilibrium: freedoms of expression and assembly are limited, and many citizens are calling for greater transparency and participation.

Despite these challenges, the population shows remarkable maturity. In both villages and cities, Tanzanians talk, reflect, and dream of a future where their voices will carry more weight.

Daily realities beyond politics

Beyond the campaign speeches, the people’s priorities remain unchanged: education, health, work, and food security.

In a country where more than half the population is under 20, education is a crucial issue. The cost of living continues to rise, and in rural areas, many families struggle to meet even basic needs.

It is within this context that Partage Tanzanie acts every day — supporting children and their families so they can keep faith in the future, regardless of the political climate.

And tomorrow?

The coming weeks will reveal the direction Tanzania will take. But one thing is certain: the Tanzanian people possess a quiet strength and an exemplary resilience. Thanks to your support, Partage Tanzanie will continue to walk alongside them on this path — one filled with challenges, but also with hope and promise.
