Hands That Build the Future

At Partage Tanzanie, some people work behind the scenes, far from the classrooms, yet they play an essential role in children's education.
This month, we would like to pay tribute to our carpenters, who work almost non-stop, eleven months a year, with patience, precision and dedication.

Among them are Edius, Achileus and Alfred. Supported by Partage since childhood and later trained through the association, they now specialize in the production of Montessori educational materials for our teacher training centre.
Each year, the 20 to 25 students graduating from the programme leave with a complete set of teaching materials, all locally manufactured in the Partage workshops.
And these materials are far from anecdotal: they are used every day in PTZ kindergartens, where children learn to manipulate, observe, count, read and develop their independence through tools specifically designed for Montessori education.
Here, everything begins long before reaching the workbench: trees are cut, timber is sawn into planks, planed, trimmed, assembled, painted, varnished and carefully finished.
A meticulous process that requires skill, patience and precision.

Amounts that are simply out of reach for many schools in Tanzania.
Thanks to the work of PTZ's carpenters, all of these materials can be produced locally at a cost up to ten times lower, while remaining strong, suitable and durable. This allows Partage Tanzanie's kindergartens to be equipped with quality educational materials that are essential for the proper implementation of Montessori teaching.
Because yes, even in Tanzania, Montessori education is often considered a luxury. But thanks to the skills and commitment of our teams, this luxury becomes accessible — not for the wallet, but for the mind 🤪
These workshops are also a wonderful illustration of what Partage Tanzanie has been striving to build for many years: passing on skills, providing sustainable training opportunities and enabling people to become active participants in their own future.

A small piece of advice before watching the video: turn your volume down a little 😉 A busy workshop is rarely a quiet place!
