Jean Meets Husina in Bushurago

A first journey filled with emotion, strengthening the bond between sponsor and child

In September 2024, Jean, a sponsor since 2023, travelled to Tanzania to meet his sponsored child Husina for the very first time in the village of Bushurago (VP 21b).

Born in 2015, Husina lost her father in 2017. She is the youngest of five children — three girls and two boys. Her mother, who suffers from severe bipolar disorder, is unable to care for the family on a daily basis. It is therefore their maternal grandmother, Samiath, who has lovingly taken in and raises all her grandchildren under her roof with remarkable courage.

At 9 years old, Husina is studying diligently and currently attends Standard 4 at her village primary school.

Jean’s visit was a moment of comfort and hope for the whole family.For Husina, his support is a precious light, a reminder that despite life’s challenges, she is not alone on her path.
