Lorène meets Jovina in Kabyaile

A heartfelt moment of encouragement for a young girl determined to keep studying

In August 2025, Lorène, who has been a sponsor since 2021, travelled to Bukoba to meet her sponsored child Jovina and her family for the very first time.

Jovina was born in 2010 in the village of Kabyaile (VP 13b). Orphaned of her father since 2020, she now lives with her mother, Domina, her two sisters Leonida (17) and Dorine (9), and her brother Flavius (12).

At 15 years old, Jovina is pursuing her studies with remarkable dedication. She is now in her second year of secondary school at Rwemondo High School—an important milestone for her future and a source of pride and hope for her whole family.

Lorène’s visit was a deeply moving time of connection, sharing and joy. It strengthened the precious bond between sponsor and child, and gave Jovina renewed confidence and motivation to continue her journey with determination.

More than just a visit, this encounter reminded everyone how sponsorship can truly open doors: it supports families, nurtures young people’s dreams, and helps build a brighter future one step, one child, one story at a time.
